Member of Parliament supports cancer patient

Mr Francis Adu-Blay Koffie, Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni/Valley, has donated GH¢ 2,000.00 from his share of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund to support John Blaychie, 47, a cancer patient.

The donation was made at the Church of Christ’s branch in Prestea.

Presenting the cheque, the MP said the donation was in response to an appeal made by the patient’s wife, Madam Veronica Blaychie.

Mr Koffie used the opportunity to advise Christians to humble themselves and serve God religiously.

Receiving the cheque, Madam Blaychie expressed gratitude to the MP for his continuous support to the less privilege in the society.

Madam Blaychie said in January, this year her husband was diagnosed of suffering from throat cancer.

She said even though he had gone through a first surgery, specialist who attended to him at the Cape Coast general hospital, said he needed to undergo a second operation at the cost of GH¢ 5,000.00.

Madam Blaychie, a mother of six and a petty trader, called on other individuals and benevolent organisations to help her raise the remaining GH¢ 3,000.00.
