Mechanics undergo capacity building

Over 40 members of the Ghana National Association of Garages from the Nsawam-Adoagyiri branch, have under-gone a three-week training in safety, ICT and the usage of vehicle diagnostic machine.

It was organised by Covet and Skills Development Fund.

Mr Simon Otabil, Chairman of the Association, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said, the training afforded members the opportunity to build their capacity in modern technology of vehicle repairs.

He said the introduction of ICT and vehicle diagnostic machine for fault detection has made maintenance of vehicles easier, with time spent in detecting faults reduced to minimum.

He said the technology would also help avoid the shabby looks that mechanics are associated with, and that, it would encourage the youth to develop interest in the trade.

Mr Otabil assured that the Association would continue to support members to establish workshops.
