A Matriculation ceremony for, 29 students of the School of Medical Laboratory Technology for the newly introduced diploma course for laboratory technologists was held at the University of Ghana Medical School canteen at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The training programme is based on the semester credit unit system to train laboratory technologists for the Ministry of Health.
Mr Samuel Aryee-Fey, Principal of the school said 230 applicants applied for the course but only 29 were selected he appealed to government to restock the school’s library with modern materials and equip its laboratory with computers and other equipment.
Dr Ken Sagoe, Director of the Human Resources Development Dicision of the Ministry of Health was the guest speaker.
