March Against Monsanto – Accra.

October 8, 2013

Food Sovereignty Ghana (FSG), an advocacy movement, will embark on a public march from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to the Agbogbloshie market on Saturday 12th October 2013. The march, which will start at 10:00 am, is to start from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and end at the Agbogbloshie market.

The objective of the march is to create awareness on some critical agricultural policies, especially the introduction of genetically modified seeds/food (GMOs) into our local food chain, which will have grave consequences for our sovereignty as a nation, for economic justice, and the safety and diversity of the food we eat in Ghana.

The march, which is also part of the international solidarity campaign against Monsanto, is organized in many cities across the globe on every 12th October.

— Ali-Masmadi Jehu-Appiah, Chairperson, FSG
