Manly-Spain wants politicians to be God fearing

Mr Henry Ekow Manly-Spain, an aspiring Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, has called on politicians to seek God’s wisdom to guide their deeds and words to make Ghana a better place for all.

“Some politicians portray themselves as God fearing but engineer schemes to undermine opponents with rough propaganda methods. Such politicians often forget that the application of God’s wisdom to life produces joy. We claim to be followers of God but our actions does not mirror the characteristics of true worshippers in the Bible and Quaran”, he said.

In a statement signed and issued to the Ghana News Agency by Mr Manly-Spain, he deplored what is happening in mainstream politics because “ there is hatred for one another, while abuse, lies, hooliganism, vendetta and violence are often used to serve selfish political ends.”

He said “It is true that our imperfect human nature frequently impels us to do and say bad things but it should not go beyond reasonable definition of what is appropriate, after all, doing the right thing appeals to the better nature in all of us.”

According to him, universities all over the world are including ethic courses in their curricula to help students discern right from wrong.
