Mankranso gets electricity

Mankranso-Ash., May 16, GNA — The chiefs and people of Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South District have on Friday commissioned their electricity project undertaken through communal labour.

Mr Anthony Kusi, the District Chief Executive who performed the ceremony congratulated the people for their self-help spirit. He announced that the government spent more than 80 million cedis while the people also contributed 40 million cedis.

Mr Christopher Amofah, the assemblyman for the area said the people have drawn up a three-year development plan including the construction of a community centre and four additional borehole for the town.

Mr Amofa said a special rate of 20,000 cedis per man and 10,000 cedis per woman is being levied towards the project.
