Pius Clemefi, Mankrado of Likpe-Abrani in Hohoe Municipality and nine others, are in the grip of the police for stripping a 34 year-old woman and parading her through the farming community for alleged insolence.

The nine are; Tsiami Kumah, Tsiami David Mensah, Eric Borkeh, Antwi Godwin and Ofori Victor.

The rest are Akorli Fabian, Dagadu Happy, Richard Agbobada and Raymond Zatey.

Eight others namely; Kilian Techie, Mensah Paul, Joseph Ofori, Norbert Clemefi, Faustinos Clemefi, Agbozo Chrisitan, Adafia Aloysuis and Vincent Agbobada are at large.

Briefing the media in Ho, Mr. Alex Bedie, Volta Regional Police Commander said on September 24, Tsiami Kumah and Tsiami David Mensah summoned the victim, Madam Anastasia Adom, a petty trader before Mankrado Pius Clemefi for allegedly insulting Nana Akototsey V, Chief of Likpe-Abrani.

He said at about 0800 hours on September 25, Anastasia went to Mankrado Clemefi’s Palace and met a large number of people.

Mr. Bedie said as soon as Anastasia got to the Palace, Mankrado Clemefi ordered her to kneel down.

The Police Commander said Mankrado Clemefi then told her that one Nicholas Borkeh and Mary Afenyo, had reported to the Chiefs that she (Anastasia) had insulted Nana Akototse, by claiming that he (Nana Akototse) had licked her vagina.

He said though Anastasia denied the allegation, Mankrado Clemefi and other elders of the community ordered that she be stripped and paraded throughout the town and banished.

Mr. Bedie said a group of people carried out the bidding of the chiefs during which they took video and still pictures of the “operation”.

He said while Anastasia was being paraded through the Town, some young men inserted their fingers into her vagina.

Mr. Bedie said after banishing Anastasia from the Town, the youth went to her house, vandalised her belongings and also broke into her kiosk and looted the wares.

He said Anastasia later reported the matter to the Police leading to the arrest of the nine, who are being processed for court.
