Mankessim Tailors and Dressmakers to establish hostel

Mankessim (C/R), Mar 3, GNA – The Mankessim branch of the Ghana Co-operative Tailors and Dressmakers Association has acquired a plot of land to construct a hostel to solve the acute accommodation problem of members who did not hail from the town.

Mr Kingsley Eyiah, Mfantseman District Chairman of the Association, who announced this at the passing out for 26 apprentices at Mankessim said members were making special contributions towards the project. He expressed regret that a cashew farm the Association established to generate funds for the project failed due to poor rainfall last year and expressed concern about the attitude of some parents who “dump” their wards on their trainers without paying attention to their needs. The District Chairman urged parents to collaborate with the trainers of their children to acquire vocational skills.

Mr Eyiah advised the trainees to respect their trainers and not to hesitate in approaching them with problems they would encounter.
