Man remanded for causing harm

Tema, April 12, GNA – A circuit court “B” in Tema remanded Gideon Afeneyo for allegedly using a broken bottle to inflict a cut on a man’s head.

The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm and will reappear on April 22, 2004, Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye, that the complainant was a caretaker to one Mr Onyame at Golf City area in Ashaiman.

She said on March 29, 2004, at about 0830 hours the complainant spotted Afeneyo and two other men with hand crate truck which they were using to steal sand belonging to his (Afeneyo’s) master.

The complainant confronted the accused and the other men and they attacked him (the complainant) and stabbed him on the head with a broken bottle.

Chief Insp Gyamfi said the accused and the other men bolted but they were arrested and sent to the Ashaiman police station and in his cautioned statement, Afeneyo admitted that he committed the offence.
