Man Poisons His 7-Months-Old Child

The Sankore Police in the Asunafo South District of the Brong-Ahafo Region have arrested and placed in Police custody a middle-aged man for allegedly killing his seven months old baby boy. Kwasi Williams did not understand why his girlfriend, Rabiatu Seidu, after allegedly agreeing to terminate the pregnancy for which she collected money, failed to abort it.

He is to face a provisional charge of murder. Kwasi on June 16, this year sneaked into the room of Rabiatu who was then having her bath, and allegedly administered some poisonous substance to the baby who was sleeping in a cot because she failed to abort the baby.

The strange, shrill cry of the baby compelled Rabiatu to rush from the bathroom to the bedroom only to find Kwasi leaving the room. To her amazement, the baby was foaming with some liquid all over the chest. But before she could rush the baby to the Saint Elizabeth Hospital, the baby died. The body has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

Sensing danger, Kwasi went into hiding but the police arrested him on August 31, following a report by Rabiatu.
