Man kills ex-girlfriend and is on the run

Ho, May 24, GNA – Miss Christiana Biga, 38, a trader at Avee-Torkor near Ho has been shot dead by Dickson Akli, 30, her boyfriend, for jilting him.

Akli has absconded and the police are looking for him. Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Assistant Superintendent of Police Clarkson M. Kpingbi, the Acting Regional Crime Officer, said the deceased and the boyfriend were living at Avee-Torkor. He said the deceased later learnt that the boyfriend had a wife with whom he had a child at Peki but intended divorcing the wife to marry her.

Mr Kpingbi said not happy with Akli’s idea, Christiana decided to quit the relationship.

He said on May 20, the suspect armed himself with a single barrelled gun, went to Christiana’s provision shop and shot her in the forehead, killing her.

Mr Kpingbi said the elders arrested the suspect, locked him in a room and sent for the police but he escaped through a window before the police arrived.
