Man jailed for posing as soldier

Tema (GreaterAccra) 26 Nov ’98 A man who posed as a soldier has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by a Tema circuit tribunal chaired by Mr R. C. Azumah.

The prosecution stated that the accused, Alphonse Adzator, who lives at Ashaiman, was the friend of Mr Sunday Mba, a member of the Tema Municipal Assembly task force living at Tema Site Two.

On November 19 this year, in the absence of Mr Mba, Adzator dressed in Mr Mba’s task force uniform and went to town and introduced himself as a soldier.

When asked to produce his identity card, however, Adzator took to his heels, dropping his bag in the process.

When the bag was searched, it was found to contain an army uniform, pictures and toy pistols. Adzator pleaded guilty.
