Man arrested for allegedly murdering his uncle

Cape Coast, May 2, GNA – Kofi Amankwa, 28-year old unemployed man, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his uncle Yaw Kai Anamoah, 46, and secretly burring the body in the bush behind the Abura-Dunkwa Presbyterian Church, in Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District. Corporal Raymond Asaaba of the Central Regional Police Command, who confirmed the case to GNA, said Amankwa reported to the Police that his uncle was missing.

Corporal Asaaba said that the Police received information that Anamoah, who was brought from Sefwi-Kofoka in the Western Region to Abura-Dunkwa, his home town, become bed-ridden and was being cared for by Amankwa.

Corporal Asaaba said the Police alarmed by the information, arrested Amankwa after conducting investigations into the case. Corporal Asaaba said Amankwa told the Police that he buried his uncle, who died of natural cause because he could not bear any funeral expenses.

The Police had contacted the Environmental Protection Agency and a pathologist so that the body could be exhumed for autopsy.
