Man, 28, arrested for producing fake sachet water

The Central regional Police Command has arrested a 28 -year-old man for selling unregistered sachet water to the unsuspecting public in the central region.

Collins Amoah, who is the owner of Linko Enterprise Limited at Assin Fosu was busted by the officials from the Food and Drugs Authority during FDA’s post-market surveillance in the area.

This is the second time Amoah has found himself at the wrong side of the FDA laws as he was arrested some years ago for selling unregistered beverages.

Amoah was this time around arrested on two counts of selling unregistered products and also operating in an unlicensed production premise.

Amoah who initially escaped arrest leaving behind a truck load of water which he was distributing to his clients turned himself in at the central regional police command where a complaint had been lodged by officials of FDA.

The Food and Drugs authority during their checks on the truck found three different brands of sachet water namely;

1. Blessing drinking water produced by Blessing and Emmanuella enterprise at Sefwi Akotombra

2. Hamdallah drinking water produced by Zachariah Iddrisu enterprise based in Wa and

3. Naafa Koudougou drinking water produced in Burkina Faso.

He will be arraigned before court on Monday.
