Man 25, remanded in custody for defiling a 15 year-old girl

Cape Coast Jan 6 GNA – Thomas Debra alias Kwesi Gyekye, a 25 year-old Tractor Operator’s Mate, was on Tuesday remanded in prison custody by a Circuit Court at Cape Coast for allegedly defiling a 15 year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS) student at Nyankumasi-Ahenkro in the Assin District.

Debra pleaded not guilty and would reappear on January 13. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Benjamin Kluffie told the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, that for some time now the victim, who lived with her parents at Assin Afoh, had been leaving the house unceremoniously and this became a worry to her parents, who decided to monitor her movements.

He said the victim left home in December and was traced to Nyankumasi-Ahenkro, where she was arrested and taken to the Police Station.

She told the Police that she had been defiled by Debra and later led them to Debra’s house and he was arrested.
