Mahama’s IMF bailout is a “leadership bailout” – Otiko

The National Women Organiser of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Otiko Djaba, has accused the Mahama administration of seeking a “leadership bailout” from the IMF under the guise of financial assistance.

According to her, the move is an admission of failure by the government.

“The IMF bailout is a leadership bailout. Leadership has failed us. You only go to the IMF after reckless expenditure”.

“How do they expect the economy to respond and do well after the profligate expenditure during the 2012 elections? They should correct the expenditure and get things right” she fumed on Adom FM on Monday.

Ghana country is currently at the Breton-wood institution seeking remedies to its ailing economy.

The President, John Mahama, has told Ghanaians that going to the IMF comes with a lot of benefits and Ghanaians will be witnesses to the outcome in the next few years.
