Mahama’s anti-gay comment smacks of hypocrisy – Ayisi

A member of the Council of Elders of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Ayisi Boateng, has said President Mahama’s claim of not supporting homosexuality is sheer hypocrisy since he the (President) has so many gay friends.

According to the septuagenarian, the President’s anti-gay comment at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland’s Glasgow is a mere rhetoric and an art of playing to the gallery.

Mr. Ayisi Boateng told Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Host Atinka FM’s morning show ,AM Drive that “it’s an open secret that the president has high profile gay friends and because of that he has remained tight -lipped on gay issues. The President has a renowned gay friend, Mr. Andrew Solomon. The former gave the highest bid during the launch of his book. ‘Show me your friend and I will show you character.”

He added that Ghanaians need to vote a more God-fearing person to govern the country in order for God to bestow his blessings which will break the manacle of poverty that has clenched Ghanaians under the Mahama-led NDC government.
