Mahama’s ‘A’ team will fix Ghana

Former Member of Parliament for Adenta, Kojo Adu-Asare says President John Mahama’s new appointees have the ‘magic potion’ to end Ghana’s socio-economic crisis.

He said the young and vibrant ministers and their deputies have the ability to “think outside the box” and come out with cogent solutions to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.

Adu-Asare’s statement stems from public reaction about the recent deputy ministerial appointments by the president which has been described by some as mediocre.

The current deputy ministers if approved will bring the number of appointees in the Mahama-led administration to 85.

Although some people are satisfied with it, others especially in the opposition political parties, have described the appointment as a ‘job for the boys’.

However, on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, Kojo Adu-Asare said the current appointees by the president have the key to Ghana’s success.

According to him, the criticism about the appointments is needless because President Mahama is convinced the studious men and women have the requisite skills to help him achieve the Better Ghana Agenda.

“This team will excel beyond the imaginations of Ghanaians; the solution of the country’s problems is in their hands and I believe they can do it,” he added.

The former Adenta MP observed that the current problem in Ghana is self inflicted and thus until we get great thinkers, the country will continue to wallow in abject poverty.

He proposed the widening of the tax base to enable government get enough revenue to solve the ongoing water and electricity crises Ghanaians have been plunged into.

Adu-Asare urged the ministers to put out their best in their new portfolios to ameliorate the hardship in the country.

He advised the deputy ministers not to arrogate powers onto themselves and understudy the more experienced personalities in government to gain the needed experience.

Kojo Adu-Asare called on Ghanaians to bear with government as it makes frantic efforts to solve the problems in the country.
