Mahama will never take NDC to opposition – Chief

The chief of Anweaso in the Adansi Asokwa constituency of the Ashanti region, Nana Kwankye Safo II has declared President John Mahama will win the impending December polls.

According to the chief, the National Democratic Congress candidate “John Mahama will never take NDC to opposition.”

Speaking at a mini rally in the constituency, Nana Kwankye Safo II pointed to the development projects in his community and across the length and breadth of the country as reasons for endorsing Mahama for a second term.

Likening President Mahama to a car in motion, the chief urged electorate to come on board that vehicle instead of the stationary opposition vehicle with flat tyres.

“As for me, I’m assuring and promising him (Mahama), Nananom please listen to the language I’m speaking. It’s a vehicle in motion that we join, and not a stationary one with flat tyres. So I join his (Mahama) car,” the traditional leader declared.

The chief, however, requested for a technical school to be built in the community to ensure the youth in the area acquire employable skills.

He stated: “I’m pleading with him to put up a technical school for me in this community so my children will get jobs after completion. When they get jobs, I can also have my peace of mind. I know he will deliver hence my request. John Mahama will never take NDC to opposition. Oh yes, he will never.”

The chief also urged constituents to vote for the NDC parliamentary candidate Lawyer Evans Amankwah who is up against NPP’s former deputy energy minister K T Hammond.

The governing NDC is targeting a million votes and 13 parliamentary seats in the Ashanti region.
