Mahama gov’t all about “failed promises” – NPP

General Secretary of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said President John Mahama’s government is an administration of “failed promises.”

In his view, the current government “is only interested in elections instead of the management of the economy”.

Speaking on Adom TV Monday January 12, 2015, Mr Agyepong said the governing party believes in using public deceit and propaganda in winning elections.

“In 2009, President John Mahama led a team to South Korea to negotiate with STX Korea to build 200,000 units of houses for the security agencies and other public sector workers, however, till date not a single house can be shown for that.

“This notwithstanding, the country had to pay for insurance and commitment fee for the loan it negotiated for the STX housing project,” he said.

According to him, the government was not truthful about the one-time health insurance premium promise, which it made to Ghanaians ahead of the 2008 elections.

The former flagbearer-aspirant urged the President to be up and doing to curb corruption in officialdom. He expressed confidence that the NPP will win the 2016 general elections and form the next government.
