Mahama fires Gomoa Dawurampong road contractor

President John Dramani Mahama has fired the contractor working on the Gomoa-Dawurampong road in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.

According to him, work by the contractor has been below expectation.

Speaking at a gathering in Cape Coast on Friday, President Mahama directed the Minister of Roads and Highways to get a new contractor for the road project.

The president is in the Region for his ‘Accounting to the People Tour’, which began last Wednesday.

On the last day of his tour, which took him to the hometown of his late predecessor, President Mahama promised the people of Gomoa a 30-bed polyclinic.

The polyclinic will have a pharmacy, morgue, paediatric and obstetric theatres as well as offices for nurses and doctors, President disclosed.

The Polyclinic is one of the ten promised the Central Region by the Mahama-led government.
