Local Gov’t Minister donates to school

Alhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has donated 100 bags of cement for the construction of a three-storey school block for the Islamic Junior High School at Nkawie, in Ashanti Region.

Nana Asare Bediako, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, who made the donation on behalf of the Minister also provided one and half tons of iron rods as the District Assembly’s contribution to the project.

He urged Muslim parents to invest in the education of their children and advised the pupils of the school to stick to their books and avoid going to entertainment shows.

Nana Bediako counselled them to do away with acts that would only them trouble with the law and instead embrace self-discipline, respect for the elderly and humility.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, Mallam Salis Abubakari, the School Management Committee Chairman, thanked Alhaji Dauda and the District Assembly for responding quickly to an appeal sent out by the Muslim Community during a recent visit by the Minister.

Work has already started on the project and when completed, would help increase enrolment to enable more Muslim youth and others to gain access to secondary education.
