Local Council of Churches holds thanksgiving service

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), Jan. 7, GNA – Ghanaians irrespective of their political leanings have been urged to give due recognition to the elected President of the Republic.

The Reverend Antwi Adjei Broni, pastor in-charge of the Manso-Nkwanta Joy Assemblies of God Church, who made the call, also asked all elected parliamentarians to honour their campaign promises to the electorate.

He was preaching the sermon at a thanksgiving service organised by the Manso-Nkwanta Local Council of Churches for the peaceful December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Rev Adjei Broni, who was thankful to God for the peaceful elections, also advised Ministers of State to rely on God in all their endeavours so as to be able to move the country forward. Mr Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, Amansie West District Chief Executive, who attended the service, said the NPP’s victory was not for the party alone but for all Ghanaians.

He asked all to contribute towards the development of the country by forging ahead in unity so as to ensure that the peace that prevailed before and during the elections would continue now that the elections were over.

“What the country needs now is peace and unity to ensure speedy development,” Mr Kwakye-Adeefe said and called on supporters of both the NPP and NDC to put behind them their differences and assist in the development of the District in particular and the country in general.
