The vetting of Chief Justice nominee Sophia Akuffo by parliament’s Appointment Committee is underway.
If passed by the Committee, Sophia Akuffo takes over from current Chief Justice Georgina Wood.
Chief Justice Georgina Wood has been in that position for almost a decade after her appointment by former President Kufuor.
Sophia Akuffo is an experienced Justice of the Court with decades of experience.
Each member of the Committee has an allocated time of 20 minutes to vet the Chief Justice nominee.
The process is expected to last for close to 11 hours should the members utilise the allocated time.
