Mankessim (C/R), Dec. 27, GNA – A Deputy Minister of Information, Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng has said that the Positive Change Chapter Two launched by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its pre-election manifesto is a collaboration of government, chiefs, unit committees, town/area councils, assembly members and the people.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, who is the Member of Parliament-elect for Mfantseman West said Positive Change Chapter Two enjoined every body to get on board saying no one should sit on the fence to wait and see what the government could do for the nation.
He urged opponents of the party not to regard themselves as enemies to make them distance themselves from development programmes. The MP-elect made the call at a get-together in his constituency at Mankessim.
He urged the people to use the next four years to get Central Region, particularly, Mfantseman District out of poverty, which they have been associated with.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng said child welfare and unemployment would be his priority and added that he would also pay attention to electricity, water, toilets and roads.
Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the District Chief Executive for Mfantseman said Ghanaians should be thankful to God for seeing us through a peaceful elections, which has made the nation the beacon of democracy in West Africa.
He said there were plans to decongest traffic at Mankessim. Nana Kwenu II, Chief of Eduafo appealed to supporters of NPP to desist from indulging in provocative activities when celebrating the party,s victory in the elections.
