Let Easter lead to commitment to reconciliation – US Ambassador

Tema, April 09 GNA – The United States (US) Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Pamela Bridgewater on Sunday called on Ghanaians to renew their commitment to peace and reconciliation with one another in order to move ahead in development in their lives and the nation.

She said these are prerequisite to strengthen a nation’s development based on love and togetherness.

Madam Bridgewater expressed these views to newsmen after worshiping with the congregation of the Tema First Baptist Church to mark this year’s Easter celebration.

The Ambassador, who had earlier read a passage from the Bible to call the congregation to worship, said as Ghanaians join the Christian world to celebrate the resurrection of Christ Jesus they should, in oneness look for better things ahead.

Delivering the sermon, Reverend Dr Dora Bortey, Associate Pastor of the Church asked Ghanaians to always look up to God for solutions in the face of difficulties and problems, either domestic or official. In this regard, she said in this trying moments of energy crisis, Ghanaians must pray for wisdom for their leaders to enable them come out with solutions to the crisis since it is God who directs in decision taking.

She stressed the need for one to lead honest and Godly life and pray unceasingly to let the resurrection of Christ Jesus which brings joy to encourage them to act and walk in victory.

In order to achieve the desired results, Rev. Bortey advised against the indulgence in negative practices that could undermine the progress of society.
