Legon, KNUST students blamed for bloody UCC clash

Students of the Commonwealth Hall of the University of Ghana and their colleagues from Unity Hall from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been fingered in preliminary findings into the bloody clash at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

A report issued by the Acting Director of Public Affairs of UCC Major Kofi Baah-Bentum, indicate that the atrocities were committed by guest students from these halls who were on campus for the Students Representative Council (SRC) week celebration

It would be recalled that three students were stabbed at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) following a clash between some irate students of University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Cape Coast.

According to reports, some residents of Commonwealth Hall and Unity Hall who had been invited for a programme at ATL Hall ended up attacking residents of Oguaa Hall due to a misunderstanding.

The skirmishes, the witness said erupted when porters of Oguaa Hall refused to allow some naked Vandals, Unity and ATL students into the hall.

Several properties worth thousands of cedis belonging to Oguaa hall have been destroyed, the eye witness said.
