Lands Commission ‘Boss’ Fired

The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, Dr Odame Larbi, has been sacked.

His dismissal comes at a time when government is investigating the Commission for unauthorized sale of government lands.

Pressure groups, the Committee for Joint Action and the Ghana Dangme Youth have both accused some top officials of the Commission of grabbing some state lands in clear defiance of a moratorium from the Lands Ministry.

Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mike Hammah, confirmed the dismissal to Radio XYZ in an interview. He earlier told Radio Ghana that government was reviewing the Accra Re-development Policy to prevent it from being abused.

Dr. Odame Larbi has declined comment.
