Landlord sacks police from rented house

Kukuom (B/A), Aug. 3, GNA – A landlord at Kukuom in Asunafo South District has given about 35 police personnel occupying his house a three-month ultimatum to quit for non-maintenance of the house.

Mr Kwaku Boateng, the landlord, told the Ghana News Agency at Kukuom that since he gave his building to the Police Administration it had not carried out any renovation on it.

“The policemen occupying the house are also not ready to renovate the building, which is on the verge of collapse”, he said.

Mr Boateng said due to the bad state of the house he wanted to renovate it before it collapsed.

He said several warning letters he sent to the police to put the building in good shape had not received any positive result.

When contacted Osahene Kwaku Aterkyi, Omanhene of Kukuom, expressed regret about the behaviour of the Police Administration, saying he had received several complaints from the landlord about the reluctance of the police to renovate it.

Osahene Aterkyi, who is President of Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, condemned the attitude of the police and advised them to learn the culture of maintenance whilst he worked to ensure that sanity prevailed between the landlord and the District Police command.
