Conventry City’s manager Frank Lampard has offered an update on striker Brandon Thomas-Asante after the Ghanaian forward was forced off with a hamstring issue during their midweek fixture.
Speaking after the match, Lampard confirmed that the injury was not believed to be a major tear, but remained cautious about the extent of the setback.
“It’s a hamstring,” he said. “He didn’t feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him. So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it’s a concern for us, and we’ll have to see how he is.”
Thomas-Asante, a key figure in Conventry City’s attack this season, has been in impressive form, making the injury a worrying development for them as they continue their push up the Championship table.
The club will assess the forward further in the coming days, with Lampard hoping the early substitution will help prevent a longer spell on the sidelines.
