Lady Julia donates to King Jesus Charity Home

Boadi (Ash) July 15, GNA – Lady Julia Osei Tutu, Executive Director of the Serwaa Ampem Aids Foundation for Children, has donated food items to the King Jesus Charity Home at Boadi near Kumasi. The items, which cost Gh¢3000, were made up of 2 bails of used clothing, 11 bags of rice, 15 boxes of Indomine nodules, 20 boxes of fruit drinks, a bag of flour, drugs, candies, toilet, French and Agricultural Science books, 20 chairs and tables.

Making the presentation Dr Thomas Agyarko-Poku, an Executive member of the foundation, said it was the dream of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II the Asantehene to support the needy in society. He cautioned proprietors of orphanages and children’s homes to make sure that items donated to such children are not diverted but are given to the children.

Dr Agyarko-Poku appealed to the Ministry of Social Welfare to support orphanages to enable them take good care of the children under their care.

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene, said their visit was a fact finding mission to assess the state of affairs of the orphanages in the region to enable the foundation to look at what support they could give to them. She told the children to be obedient to their care takers and learn hard to enable society.
