Lack of GETFund stalling projects at Bongo

Mr Alixis Ayamdor, Bongo District Chief Executive (DCE) in Upper East Region, has appealed to Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) Secretariat to release funds to complete stalled senior high school (SHS) projects.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency at Gowrie, he said some of the GETfund projects are at a standstill as a result of lack of funds.

At Gowrie SHS, the DCE expressed dissatisfaction about the slow pace of work on the construction of a dining hall and 18 classroom blocks.

The school also lacks a library, information communication technology centre and workshop for the technical students.

Mr Ayamdor noted that inadequate water supply compels the students to fetch water from the Vea Irrigation Dam, risking the contraction of diseases.

He asked stakeholders including teachers and students to live up to expectation to help achieve quality human resource development.
