Labourer jailed 25 years for defilement

Tarkwa (W/R), Dec 16, GNA- The Tarkwa Circuit Court presided over by John Ajet Nasam, has sentenced a forty-five year old farm labourer, Kwesi Adae, of Sefwi-Ankaatisu, to 25 years imprisonment for defiling an eleven year old girl. He was sentenced on his own plea.

Prosecuting, Inspector Oscar Amponsah of the Tarkwa Police said Adae saw the girl attending to nature’s call in a bush close to his house.

Inspector Amponsah said Adae later called the victim and asked her to collect some cigarettes from his room and he followed up and defiled her.

According to the Prosecutor, Adae repeated the act a week later and gave the victim fifteen thousand cedis and warned her not to tell any one.

A few days later the victim started experiencing severe pains and confided to her guardian, who reported the matter to the police at Sefwi-Debiso and Adae was arrested.
