Kyekyewere Model School project starts

Work on the construction of a 24- unit community Model Senior High School (SHS) block with ancillary facilities at Denkyira Kyekyewere in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality began last Friday.

The project is part of the 200 model SHS to be built across the country to fulfill a promise by President John Dramani Mahama prior to the 2012 general elections.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira East, Mrs. Emelia Pokuwaa Ankomah who cut the sod for the start of work, said it was the President’s vision to help improve access and quality of education in the country.

She appealed to traditional authorities in the area to liaise with the leadership of the Upper Denkyira East Assembly to assist the contractor to complete the work within the scheduled 18 months.

Nana Binfo Kojo II, the chief of Denkyira Kyekyewere, expressed gratitude to the Akwamuhene of Assin Achiase Nana Akwasi Adarkwa who donated 30- acre plot of land for the project.
