Kwakwaduam Association Inc Awards Scholarship

At its May meeting, Kwakwaduam Association Inc of New York Tri State Area awarded a scholarship to Mr. Franklyn Ayeh Kissiedu who has been accepted into Manhattan College to pursue a Premed Course.

This is part of Kwakwaduam Association program of encouraging and assisting the children of its Members to higher levels of achievement. It will be recalled that last year Kwakwaduam offered 3 scholarships to students going to Penn State University, Carnegie Mellon and George Washington Universities.

The mission of Kwakwaduam is to organize activities aimed at enhancing the quality of health, educational, cultural and socio-economic lives of it members and to extend the same to the community. The mission also embodies activities to improve the quality of life of the community of its roots in Ghana.

The meeting also celebrated Mothers day by providing gifts to the Women donated by the Vision organization and the Mayors Clothing Bank

Addressing the Organization, Mrs Quarshie the Executive Secretary General of the National Council of Ghanaian Associations praised the efforts of Kwakwaduam and suggested that it was most laudable of Kwakwaduam Association to pursue excellent programs both in the US and in Ghana

The President of the Organization indicated that Kwakwaduam was in the process of writing a Grant for funding of certain initiatives and was pursuing efforts to secure some computers for its Global Initiatives Program.
