Kumasi Mayor consoles flood victims and assures support

The Mayor of Kumasi on behalf of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has expressed support and condolence to the families of the victims of the flood and fire incidents of June 4, 2015 in Accra.

In a statement issued by the KMA, the Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu, said it is indeed a trying moment for city managers in Ghana and they assure the victims of their maximum cooperation and support to manage the situation.

Kojo Bonsu said they are ready to “brainstorm to find better ways of effectively and efficiently managing our cities to prevent such mishaps in future.”

GOODWILL MESSAGE TO THE MAYOR AND PEOPLE OF ACCRA

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is shocked and devastated by the flood and fire incidents that hit some parts of the Accra metropolis on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th June, 2015 and shares in the grieve and pain of bereaved families.

Our hearts go out to the families of victims who lost their lives; those rendered homeless; and businesses that have experienced damages and losses.

It is our prayer that the Almighty God will give you the strength, comfort and hope for a new beginning.

It is indeed a trying moment for city managers, not only in Accra, but in Ghana as a whole. A dark day in the annals of city management!

We, the Management and Staff of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly as a sister-city, give you the full assurance of our condolences and sympathy in these trying times.

We also assure you of our maximum cooperation and support in whatever way, to manage the situation as well as brainstorm to find better ways of effectively and efficiently managing our cities to prevent such mishaps in future.
