Unconfirmed reports reaching GHP indicates that the President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufour, will be visiting the US next week. The president and his entourage are expected to leave Ghana on July 28 2006 to Washington DC.
Preparations were under way for Ghana and the United States to sign the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). agreement for the $547 million in Washington on August 1, 2006. President Kufuor is expected to grace the occasion.
The Ghanaian delegation is expected to visit Chicago to invite Mayor Daley to Ghana next year. Ghanaians in Chicago are hoping that the president can attend this year’s GhanaFest – The biggest Ghanaian cultural festival outside Ghana.
