Kufuor invited for anniversary celebration of Exeter College

Accra, July 4, GNA- Mrs Frances Carncross, Rector of Exeter College, an affiliate of Oxford University in Britain, on Friday invited President John Agyekum Kufuor to the 700 anniversary celebration of the College where he graduated as a Lawyer.

Mrs Carncross who was accompanied by Professor Christopher Kirwan, Philosopher lecturer of President Kufuor from 1962 to 1964, said the anniversary would be in 2014 and expressed the hope that he would find time to attend as ex President to facilitate the process. She was accompanied by six students from the college who are in the country to learn about its development trend.

Mrs. Carncross lauded the Kufuor scholarship scheme instituted by the College to support students and said the school authorities would assist any student of the President’s choice to study. The student would also be offered two years internship in the United Kingdom after graduation.

President Kufuor expressed satisfaction for the invitation and thanked his former lecturer for the vigorous training he put him through. “The training has made me what I am today.”
