Kufuor consoles families of accident victims

Accra, May 18, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday expressed his condolences to the families of the people who died in last Monday night’s accident that occurred on the Kumasi-Sunyani. A statement signed by the Presidential Spokesman and Press Secretary to the President; Mr Andrew Awuni said the President learnt with shock the fatal accident.

“He, therefore, wishes to express his sincerest condolences to the bereaved families and to the Catholic Church of which he is a member,” it said.

President Kufuor said: “As the Church holds a mass for the accident victims today, he is of the hope that the Good Lord would grant the deceased eternal rest and solace to the affected families.”

The statement cautioned drivers to be careful on the roads especially now that the rains had set in and advised passengers not to be quiet but speak out when drivers tended to be careless behind the wheels.
