Kranka constructs Police Station

Kranka (B/A), May 23, GNA – Nkoranza District Assembly is to provide 200 bags of cement and 10 trips of sand in support of a police station project initiated by the chiefs and people of Kranka in the District.

Mr James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, District Chief Executive, announced this when he addressed the people at a fund raising rally towards the completion of the project. He lauded the foresight of the people in initiating development programmes, saying they were in the right direction “since security aspect of life is very important for every growing community”. Mr Appiah-Awuah commended the people for their communal labour spirit and advised them to remain united and forge ahead to tackle the diverse problems facing them.

He called on the youth to collaborate with unit committees and traditional authorities towards the developmental agenda of the area. Major Derek Oduro (rtd), MP for Nkoranza North advised the people not to be divided by partisan politics and urged the youth to avoid getting involved in chieftaincy disputes and land litigation. He expressed gratitude to the people for voting for him during the recent bye-elections in the constituency and promised to work hard to advance the development of the constituency. Mr Adu Yaw Abdulai, Chairman of the project implementation committee appealed to non-resident citizens to visit home to contribute their quota towards the project. He expressed regret about how the community lagged behind in development and appealed to the people to support efforts for the rapid development of the area.

Mr Philip Kwabena Kyeremeh, Assembly Member, called on the people to promptly pay their individual contributions for the commencement of the project. Nana Okofo Amisare VIII, Akwamuhene of Nkoranza traditional area, who presided, commended the District Assembly for the support.
