Korle Bu Hospital denies suspending OPD services

The Korle Bu Teaching hospital has denied suspending Out Patient Services.

Media reports suggested that the hospital had taken the decision because of lack of house officers.

About 150 house officers have reportedly left the facility after completing their housemanship.

But the Public Relations Officer for the Korle Bu hospital Mustapha Salifu told Starr News that the various units are running OPD services to pave way for the expansion of the Central OPD.

“The old central OPD of the hospital…is being converted into the emergency medicine department so that we move the surgical medical emergency in there so that they can share resources with the accident centre,” Salifu said.
