The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) on Thursday took delivery of three sets of solar and battery powered traffic lights, two computers and a printer valued at US$15,000.00.
These were donated by the Great West African Mines Company, a Chinese registered firm, planning to invest in Ghana.
The items are to help improve administrative work and enhance traffic management in the Kumasi Metropolis.
Mr Kofi Boateng, Asia and Africa Director of the Company, who led a delegation to present the equipment at a ceremony, said they are proud to be associated with the efforts at “making things better “for the population.
He said the company which is into mining and other productive sectors, is prepared to work closely with the KMA to improve the lives of the people.
Mr. Song Hong, Chairman of the Company, said they are amazed at the peaceful environment and hospitable nature of Ghanaians. These had excited the eagerness of many investors to put their money in the country.
Mr Samuel Sarpong, the KMA Chief Executive, thanked the company for the gesture.**
