Kindergarten building collapses, killing six kids

A kindergarten school building in Breman Gyambra in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region has collapsed, leaving four pupils dead on the spot.

Two later died at the Breman Asikuma Government Hospital on Tuesday morning. Several others have sustained various degrees of injury.

Eyewitnesses told 3news.com that there have been cracks in the building housing the kindergarten pupils of the Gyambra Methodist School.

But it is unclear whether the attention of the school’s authorities were drawn to the building defects.

Perry Baka told 3news.com that police from the Asikuma Brakwa District Command rushed to the scene to control the situation as people massed up to help rescue efforts.

The injured pupils are, meanwhile, receiving treatment at the Hospital.
