Ken Agyapong condemns KT Hammond, extols Kunbuor

Member of Parliament for Assin Central has praised the Majority leader in Parliament for displaying gentlemanly traits, even at a time when he was described as “foolish, useless, stupid and nonsense”.

According to Kennedy Agyapong, Hon. Benjamin Kunbuor is a true gentleman, and the events that took place on the floor of Parliament was unfortunate.

“…what a shame. That is how far politics can take you. K. T went too far because I know for a fact that they are very good friends,” he posited on NEAT FM.

He made these comments in response to Kwabena Tahir Hammond’s slur on the Majority Leader in Parliament for citing the ‘Woyome and Drill Ship saga’ as two cases that have reinforced the perception that politicians are corrupt.

But K.T Hammond took offence with the attempt by Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor to assume that circumstances surrounding the sale of the Drill Ship in 2001, and the whereabouts of the proceeds from the sale smacks of corruption, when the former Ambassador to the UK, Chris Kpodo confirmed to the Judgement Debt Commission that he (KT Hammond) handed over to him a banker’s draft of $3.5m in 2001.

He then proceeded to label Hon. Kunbuor as “foolish, useless, stupid and nonsense”.

However, Ken Agyapong maintains that Hon. Kunbuor exhibited nobility even in his apology to Hon. K T Hammond, even though many believe his statement did not warrant such a response.
