KATH/SMS hostel spend one million cedis on water daily

Kumasi, Sept. 7, GNA – The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Tuesday presented polytanks, worth 25 million cedis to the School of Medical Sciences’ (SMS) hostel at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

This is to help ease the water problem, which had for years now plagued the hostel.

Mr Maximum Adu-Sarfo, SRC President, who made the presentation, said the students at the hostel were members of the SRC and it was therefore, appropriate that they were helped. Mr Daniel Osei-Kwame, President of the Junior Common Room (JCR) of the hostel, expressed their appreciation for the gesture and said it would relieve them greatly of the water problem they faced at the hostel.

He said they spend close to one million cedis daily to buy water from private sources and therefore, appealed to benevolent organisations and public-spirited individuals to come to their aid.

Dr Francis Agyeman-Yeboah, Hall Master at the hostel, who received the tanks thanked the SRC for its kind gesture and hoped that the presentation would enhance studies at the hostel.
