A former National Youth Organiser of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr., has described as ‘annoying and disgusting’ the trade accusations between the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the Rubygate cocaine scandal.
The two main political parties in the country after news broke that Nayele Ametefe, the lady at the centre of the cocaine controversy has been arrested at the Heathrow Airport for drug possession, have been accusing each other of complicity in the saga.
The NPP started it all after a press conference led by its Communications Director; Nana Akomea indicted the NDC, saying the ruling party cannot exonerate itself from the Nayele Ametefe cocaine scandal.
As expected, the ruling NDC through its General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah popularly known as General Mosquito responded also through a press conference.
The NDC came in again to respond to the NDC’s General Secretary.
Speaking to this in a panel discussion on PEACE FM morning show Kokrokoo, Kabila, as the CPP Youth activist is affectionately called, said it is unfortunate that the hullaballoo surrounding the cocaine issue has reached this level.
“While accusations are being thrown back and forth, the actual drug dealers are sitting somewhere laughing…We are sick and tired of this NDC, NPP…to fight the drug menace is not about accusations and counter accusations. It is about offering solutions as to how to deal with the drug menace,” he stated.
