Judicial Service staff are threatening to strike over unpaid outstanding allowances.
The threat if carried through will bring activities at the courts to a halt nationwide.
The threat was made at a meeting hosted by JUSAG executives on Friday, May 15, 2015.
President of JUSAG, Alex Nartey, told members at the meeting the strike will take effect from Wednesday, May 20 should the government fail to meet their May 19 deadline.
According to JUSAG members, several appeals to the government over their concerns have yielded no results.
“If by the 19th [May], we don’t see the total amount due us, as far as our allowances for the first and the second quarter are concerned, we would suspend and withdraw our services nationwide, to the courts, the public and everywhere,” Nartey declared.
