Juaben Government Hospital sees 4,370 eye cases

Juaben (Ash), Jan. 3, GNA – The Asante-Juaben Government Hospital in 2011 saw a total of 4,370 eye cases, Dr Prosper

Gbegko, the Medical Superintendent, has announced.

He said facilitiy successfully carried out surgery on 104 of the patients, majority of them had cataract.

There were also the removal of pterygium, and eyelid excision.

Dr Gbegko, addressing an end-of-year dinner and award ceremony held by the facility at Juaben, said they would continue to provide quality eye care service to save sight.

He also spoke of plans to add dental, ear, nose and throat care to its services to end the situation where people in the area travel

long distances to receive treatment for those cases.
