John Boadu has pledged to lead a “renewed” New Patriotic Party (NPP) towards the next general elections after being elected the party’s national chairman.
Speaking for the newly elected executives at the NPP’s delegate conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, he said the leadership would serve with humility and work with every branch of the party.
“Our task is to build a renewed NPP, one that listens and consults more. We are going to work closely with regional executives, constituents, external branches, and our MPs led by Afenyo-Markin,” Mr Boadu said.

Daniel Titus Glover was elected National Organiser, while Mavis Hawa Koomson became the NPP’s national women’s organiser. Yakubu Abanga was also elected National Youth Organiser.
The elections were held during the party’s delegate conference in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, 2026, as the NPP chose a new group of national executives.
Justin Kodua Frimpong retained his position as General Secretary after winning a contested internal election with 4486 votes.
Former Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, finished second with 1340 votes. Eugene Boakye Antwi received 162 votes, while Dr Charles Dwamena polled 126.
The National Youth Organiser election was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and featured six candidates.
Abanga Fuseini Yakubu won the contest with 1550 votes. His challengers included Clement Opoku Gyamfi, who polled 631, Michael Osei Boateng with 78, Vera Oye Bram-Larbi with 44, and Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, the then Deputy National Youth Organiser, who received 46 votes.
Alfred Kumi Ababio secured 25 votes.
