A senior medical practitioner and elder of the Church of Pentecost, Dr. Ken Aboah, has urged Christians to be more nationalistic even as Jesus was.
Dr. Aboah made the call while delivering a talk on the topic ” Developing a sense of nationalism” to a group of Christian youth at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Kumasi.
Referring to the Bible (Matthew 22:21) which states that “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s,” he challenged the youth to take their civil obligations more seriously because Jesus would have paid VAT, if he were to be around today.
Quoting the first president of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the church elder said the black man is capable of managing his own affairs.
Dr. Aboah regretted that after 46 years of independence, Ghana is still 50% dependent on foreign donors for development.
The speaker regretted that the country is endowed with both human and natural resources and yet ignores them and look up to the white man for most of her needs, resulting in underdevelopment.
Aboah charged the youth to develop a positive attitude against the general negative attitude perceived that everything by the blackman is bad and those of the white man are good.
